After having seen pictures of red-, cream- and tortiepoint Birmans, we fell in love, and just had to have such a cat. We bought Trollehöjds Palette in 1986, she might not have been a "beauty" as a baby, but had an incredible temperament. ![]() Palette's mum was an import from Hilkens in Great Britain, a cattery run by Hillary and Ken Clark, well known for their effort in the development of the red-series. The reds, creams and torties were not recognized at that time, and we had to work hard to produce enough quality babies to be able to show them in order to get them accepted. (FIFé demanded 20 cats at a show to get recognizion, and they had to be judged by not less than 4 FIFé judges.) In 1990 FIFé recgonized the red-series, and the interest in these varieties started growing. In 1998, at the age of 12, Trollehöjds Palette became Scandinavian Winner. We had the honour of breeding the first redpoint born in Norway, (N)Cat Baloo's Red Delicious. He was kept for further breeding and gave us many nice offspring, among others GIC (N)Cat Baloo's Peppermint Patti who stayed with us.
